Historical Imaginings

Description

Whenever I think of Virginia's Shenandoah Valley, I always try to wrap my mind around how many marches, skirmishes, encampments, and battles this scenic region hosted from 1861-1865. There were a number of significant mountain gaps along the Blue Ridge that were used by both sides when shifting forces either to or from the Valley and to the Piedmont and other points east. Any season is special when you're around the Shenandoah and especially Fall.
