An Orchard Sentinel

On Orchard Knob, a silent sentinel faces Confederate positions on Missionary Ridge (seen in the distance). This location provides panoramic views that allow for taking in the surrounding geography of the entire area and campaign. It was also from this strategic spot on November 25, 1863 that Union Generals Grant, Thomas, and Granger surprisingly watched their troops storm up and take the ridge.
