Heater House

Believed to have been built around 1800, this original log home sat on the farm owned by Solomon and Caroline Wunder Heater. Originally from Pennsylvania, Mrs. Heater remained a Unionist even though she had lost two of her sons in Confederate service. This property was at the center of the fighting on October 19, 1864.
