Sherrick Overlook

Description

Built by Joseph Jr. in the late 1830s, today's standing house on the Sherrick Farm fashions many Greek revival style elements. Confederate troops of General Toombs' Brigade were positioned near the house as it was important to prevent Union soldiers from using the narrow ravine that led between the Otto Farm and to the crossing at the Lower Bridge. The monuments to the 45th (left) and 100th (right) Pennsylvania Infantry Regiments are seen with this perspective.
