Structured Sunrise
Description
Following the battle, Sachs Covered Bridge carried a large portion of Lee's retreating army over Marsh Creek. Two brigades of the Union's First Corps also crossed the bridge on July 1 as they headed towards Gettysburg. The structure was built in 1852 and has been designated as Pennsylvania's most historic bridge. It suffered flood damage in 1996 but has since been restored. While the bridge is not located on the immediate battlefield, it receives many visitors to this day.
