South Mountain

A collection of scenes from the elevations that crest the significant range in Maryland. Along this northern extension of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Appalachian Trail runs through the state and into Pennsylvania. During the Civil War, significant fighting took place around the major gaps in September 1862.
