Lookout's Terrain

Monuments and markers denote locations of New York and Pennsylvania regiments above the Cravens House plateau on Lookout Mountain. This was where some of the heaviest fighting took place across this difficult terrain on the fog-shrouded day of November 24, 1863. This forever named this engagement the “Battle Above the Clouds.”
