Memorial Building
Description
The Memorial Building was erected on the hill overlooking the Sinking Spring Farm and where it's believed that the original Lincoln Family cabin was located. Inside is a symbolic cabin which represents the type of one Abraham would have been born in. The building was constructed from 1909-1911 and of Connecticut pink granite and Tennessee marble. Each of the 56 steps leading up to the structure represents a year of Lincoln's life.
