Knob Creek

Description

Knob Creek was the Lincoln's major source of drinking water. It ensured the family's survival and provided growth and health for their crops and livestock. Abraham's young neighbor and friend, Austin Gollaher, once told a story about saving the future President from drowning in this creek. The young boys were jumping rocks when Abe was swept into the rushing water. Gollaher held out a branch and pulled him to safety.
