Embattled Worship

Description

As one of the landmarks of the battlefield, the Dunker Church originally began as a small house of worship for the local families here in the early 1850s. The structure itself took some notable damage from bullets and artillery rounds and was used as a medical station in the days following. The church was restored on its original foundation and with some of its original materials. Today, this allows visitors to take a step inside and contemplate the lives and sacrifices of the past.
