Description

Erected in 1940 by the State of Virginia, the monument to Thomas Jonathan Jackson stands on Henry Hill. During the First Battle of Manassas on July 21, 1861, Jackson's Brigade of Virginians charged across the field to help secure a surprising victory and earn him the symbolic nickname of "Stonewall."
