Sherfy Shining

Description

Located about one mile south of Gettysburg along the Emmitsburg Road, the Sherfy Farm was the scene of intense fighting on July 2, 1863. Union Major General Daniel E. Sickles moved his Third Corps out to the Peach Orchard and was soon struck by the Confederate assault that was driving up the road and toward Cemetery Ridge.
